Amy Morrison, CPA, MBA
Amy is a member of AAFCPAs’ Managed Accounting Solutions (MAS) team, providing outsourced, cloud-based finance & accounting support for nonprofits and privately-held companies. Amy provides strategic financial and operational consulting solutions, and oversees financial procedures and internal and external team members as appropriate to ensure the finance function runs smoothly.
Amy is also a member of AAFCPAs Nonprofit Accounting & Auditing practice, with extensive experience advising nonprofits receiving federal grants and state contracts. She addresses clients’ most critical financial concerns, including: managing cash flow, including financial forecasts & projections; performing monthly closing procedures and producing monthly financial statements; applying new accounting principles & regulations; restricted funds and federal grant tracking & reporting; development of custom reporting as needed for funding sources; preparation and drafting of annual financial statements and footnote disclosures; audit preparation; and preparing for and delivering meaningful presentations to board and financial committees. She also advises clients on optimizing the presentation of their Form 990, as well as managing risks and ensuring the form is complete and accurately reflects all the required information.
Amy’s background includes 9 years of experience as an auditor, serving nonprofits with US GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and Massachusetts UFR compliance requirements. Her experiences yields strategic insights into the needs and goals of AAFCPAs’ clients. This unique perspective allows her to advise AAFCPAs’ MAS clients on implementing and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting, and improving operational processes for efficiencies.
Amy is an in-house trainer on diverse accounting topics, including the latest developments related to the unique compliance requirements for human service organizations, internal control testing, and UFR preparation.
