Hector Elizondo, CPA
Accounting Manager
Hector is a member of AAFCPAs’ Outsourced Accounting & Fractional CFO (OAFC) practice, providing accounting infrastructure set-up, and high-quality, cloud-based accounting services for nonprofits. He oversees the execution of accounting services, manages deliverables that require higher-level expertise, and relieves clients of the burden of day-to-day transactional activities.
Hector collaborates with new clients to right-size people, process, and systems to modernize their finance function and to address evolving needs as the organization scales. He helps clients migrate to cloud-based systems, and ensures processes are efficient, effective, and that risks are mitigated.
Hector supervises junior staff in the execution of day-to-day transactional accounting procedures, including: processing of AR/AP, payroll, and monthly general ledger account reconciliations. He provides informative monthly or quarterly financial packages, featuring critical financial data, which enables management to make data-informed decisions. He provides budgeting and cash flow projections, budget versus actual comparisons, and the associated checks, balances, and financial controls to guide nonprofit performance. Hector also assists management with regulatory compliance and guidance concerning audit and tax return preparation to ensure optimal presentation to donors, funders, and other stakeholders.
Hector joined AAFCPAs in 2018 in the firm’s Assurance division. He has extensive experience planning and executing financial statement audits for sophisticated nonprofits, which gives him a solid foundation in best practices for financial statement presentation and internal control procedures.
Hector is a Mentor to new staff, helping them access the resources at the firm needed to be successful. He lives in Austin, Texas and appreciates AAFCPAs’ Work from Anywhere Model. Hector speaks English and Spanish.
