Patrick C. Coakley, MBA
Pat is a member of AAFCPAs’ specialized Employee Benefit Plan Audit & Consulting Practice with extensive expertise in the Department of Labor’s stringent rules and regulations for reporting and disclosure under ERISA. He supervises audits and advises plan sponsors on ERISA compliance requirements, including those associated with administering 401K, 403B, Defined Benefit, and Health & Welfare Plans.
Pat schedules and supervises each aspect of the benefit plan audit to help ensure the process is efficient, minimally disruptive, and provides valuable learnings to improve operations and reduce risks. He proactively communicates with plan sponsor, vendors and any third-party administrator to allow for adequate time to pull together requested documents, and he collaborates as appropriate with AAFCPAs’ audit and tax teams to ensure there are not duplicate requests for information. He provides close monitoring of status and completion and ensures that client expectations are met, and deliverables are provided on their agreed upon dates.
Pat is a member and coach of AAFCPAs’ internal, Professional Accountant Development Program, providing new accountants at the firm with leadership and coaching as they travel along their professional journey. He has been serving AAFCPAs clients since 2011.
