Justin Leroux, CPA
Justin is responsible for planning and executing financial statement audits for sophisticated nonprofit organizations. His experience in the nonprofit sector includes community development corporations (CDCs) and their affordable housing development projects with HUD and Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency requirements and human & social services providers.
Justin is highly sought-after for his expertise in the community development/ affordable housing sector. He has authoritative knowledge on the subject of tax credit-based financing, including Low-Income Housing tax credits, federal and state Historic Rehabilitation tax credits, “twinning” deals and projects that combine tax credits with various levels of debt and rental assistance subsidies. He provides clients with advice throughout a project’s life cycle from deal structuring to tax credit compliance and assisting with investor exits.
Justin also has extensive experience with government contracts and audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance Standards and the Massachusetts Uniform Financial Report.
Justin is an active member of AAFCPAs’ Community Economic Development Committee. He is a mentor, career coach, and leader of the firm’s Professional Advancement & Development (PAD) Program, and an in-house trainer on limited partnership and CDC assurance efficiencies, and other diverse audit and compliance topics. He has been serving AAFCPAs’ clients since 2011.
