Michael Pruell, CPA

Manager

Michael has been serving AAF clients since 2006. He specializes in audits of various types of nonprofit organizations, including community health centers, child development agencies, human services organizations and community development corporations and their development projects. He has extensive experience with Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards, state and other regulatory compliance requirements of nonprofit organizations. Michael is a specialist with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding, Low-Income Housing, New Markets and Federal and State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits. He also is a Health Care specialist with expertise in Community Health Centers including requirements of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) and 330 grant regulations. Michael provides audit and tax services to a variety of commercial businesses including start-up companies, partnerships and small businesses.

Michael also specializes in business valuations including financial forecasts and projections. The business valuations are performed for estate and gift tax planning purposes, divorce engagements, mergers and acquisitions and the selling of businesses.

Michael is one of the leaders of the Health Care and Affordable Housing Divisions at AAF. He performs several trainings annually, including topics such as: cost certifications, tax trainings surrounding low-income housing tax credits and Federal Historic tax credits and other industry specific trainings relating to HUD funding and FQCH cost reports.
