Scott’s diverse international tax expertise comes from his years of proven experience advising start-ups, venture-back companies, and global companies expanding into U.S. markets with complex cross-border, international accounting and taxation issues.

Global companies entering the U.S. market have operations & accounting needs similar to U.S. start-up organizations, including establishing an accounting system, financial statement preparation, and compliance with federal and state sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax matters. Scott advises companies on challenges and opportunities stemming from expansion into the U.S. markets, including managing and structuring cross-border transactions. His expertise includes tax treaty issues, transfer pricing methodologies, inter-company transactions, and forecasting the impact of the ever-evolving IRS tax code.

Scott successfully served international tax clients for over 33 years as Founder and Managing Partner of Scott A. Goffstein & Associates LLP, which was acquired by AAFCPAs in June 2020. His work included the full spectrum of domestic tax, assurance, financial management consulting, and outsourced Managed Accounting Solutions.
