Andrew Puricelli, CPA
Andrew is responsible for planning and executing financial statement audits for sophisticated nonprofit organizations, including: community development corporations and their affordable housing development projects, community development financial institutions, multiservice human & social service providers, charter management organizations, and foundation & grant-making organizations. Andrew specializes in serving the community & economic development industry, and has extensive experience with tax credit programs, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, federal and state Historic Tax Credits, and credits for use of alternative energy sources.
Andrew is also a leader in AAFCPAs’ Charter School Practice, providing proven solutions for charter schools and Charter Management Organizations (CMOs). He is intimately familiar with best practices in how charter schools and CMOs operate at every stage of development, whether in start-up, growth, or replication. He advises clients on real estate activity, audit readiness, implementation of regulatory changes, and performance enhancement opportunities, including business process improvement, fraud prevention, expansion feasibility, and cash flow analysis. He advises Charter School clients on specialized tax-exempt bond financing and various other tax credit driven programs, such as: Qualified Zone Academy Bonds (QZABs), Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs), and other financing programs to assist with campus expansion.
Andrew has extensive experience in providing assurance solutions in accordance with Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards, FASB and GASB requirements, as well as those with Massachusetts Uniform Financial Statement (UFR) filing requirements. He also has extensive experience with the review of Federal Forms 990, Forms 990-PF, and Forms 990-T unrelated business income tax returns, as well as tax returns for affordable housing limited partnerships.
He is an active mentor and career coach and has been serving AAFCPAs clients since 2012.
