About the Authors

Charlie specializes in providing assurance solutions to sophisticated nonprofit organizations, including: community health centers, home health agencies, nursing homes & senior care living organizations.  Charlie also has substantial experience providing assurance solutions to Massachusetts charter schools and has conducted trainings to charter school and community health center industry groups, including the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.  Charlie excels in audits in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards.
Ciro is responsible for planning and executing financial statement audits for diverse nonprofit organizations, including community health centers, early education & care agencies, membership & research organizations, and foundations & grant-making institutions. Ciro understands the nuances of assurance and compliance for clients funded by federal and state contracts, private foundations and grant-making public charities, as well as public donations. He has extensive experience supervising audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards, as well as Massachusetts Uniform Financial Report (UFR) requirements. Ciro advises AAFCPAs’ community health center clients on their 340B pharmacy program requirements. He also has experience in the preparation and presentation of the Federal Forms 990, 990-T and 990-PFs, and he advises clients on how these financial statements establish public trust in the financial practices and reporting of the nonprofit.
