AAFCPAs Expands Audit, Risk Advisory, and Valuation Leadership
AAFCPAs continues to build on its long-standing strengths in commercial audit and risk advisory along with business valuations and forensics with the addition of several leaders across these practices. Together, they bring backgrounds spanning highly technical, regulated, and mission‑driven work.

Amanda joins AAFCPAs as a Director in the Commercial Audit Practice, bringing over a decade of experience with technology, life sciences, and professional services companies. She works with clients at all stages, from start-ups to private equity-owned businesses, advising on complex accounting matters including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, M&A reporting, and IPO readiness. Prior to AAFCPAs, Amanda contributed to audit methodology, quality control, and training at regional and national firms. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking for family and friends.

Joshua P. Stone
Joshua joins AAFCPAs as a leader in the Risk Advisory practice, helping clients strengthen governance, risk, and compliance strategies while providing expertise in fraud, forensic accounting, and litigation support. He has experience with private companies and public issuers across industries including medical technology, life sciences, manufacturing, insurance, and SaaS. Josh provides guidance on internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley readiness, and operational audits while supporting legal teams with financial analysis during disputes. Prior to joining AAFCPAs, he held senior roles in regional and national accounting firms and in corporate audit and enterprise risk management for a global insurance company. He and his wife live in southern New Hampshire and enjoy skiing, hiking, and dirt biking.
Maria joins AAFCPAs as Director, Business Valuations and Forensics. She provides business valuations and forensic analyses for financial reporting, tax, transaction advisory, and litigation matters. This includes advisory support on complex financial issues with a thoughtful approach, spanning valuations, tax planning, dispute support, and fraud investigations. Maria brings more than 30 years of entrepreneurial and financial services experience, including a senior management role at a Big Four firm. Outside of work, she enjoys running and dance, has completed seven marathons and more than 25 half marathons, and is pursuing the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Finisher Medal.

Elisha Stratford
Elisha joins AAFCPAs as a Manager in the Risk Advisory practice, providing expertise in enterprise risk management, internal audit, fraud examinations, and forensic accounting. She helps organizations strengthen internal controls and improve financial and IT processes, with extensive experience in SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting. Elisha evaluates complex systems and applies established frameworks to support accurate reporting and secure operations. She also conducts detailed financial analyses for litigation support, tracing transactions and uncovering key findings. Prior to AAFCPAs, she held audit and consulting roles at national and global firms and supported IPO readiness and remediation efforts.
Barry joins AAFCPAs as Audit Manager in the firm’s Education Practice, supporting charter schools and national Charter Management Organizations (CMOs). He guides clients through each phase of the audit with an emphasis on clarity, coordination, and regulatory compliance. Barry works closely with finance and leadership teams to plan and execute audits efficiently, helping minimize disruption and addressing technical issues as they arise. He brings extensive experience with GASB and FASB standards and complex funding structures, including debt and tax‑credit financing, allowing him to develop a clear understanding of each organization’s operations and risk profile. He is based in Tucson, Arizona, where he has hosted ten foreign exchange students.

Yaliza Rose
Yaliza serves as an Audit Manager supporting nonprofit organizations in AAFCPAs’ Healthcare and Education practices, delivering financial statement audits that meet rigorous technical and compliance standards including Uniform Guidance and Single Audit requirements. She coordinates engagement teams and partners closely with client finance teams from planning through final reporting. Clients value her clarity, organization, and proactive approach—anticipating needs, addressing questions promptly, and helping to move audits along with minimal disruption. Yaliza is based in Rhode Island and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, reading, cooking, and drawing as a creative outlet.
