Shauna Sullivan, CPA
Learning & Development Manager
Shauna is an experienced public accounting professional with a strong foundation in learning and development along with human resource management. A leader of AAFCPAs’ Learning & Development department, Shauna helps team members acquire technical and leadership development training at all levels, from new professionals to partners.
She provides access to training needed to build leadership skills, optimize communication, and motivate others. This includes training in communication, feedback, and engagement to ensure leadership is supporting the needs of a multi-generational, hybrid workforce. Shauna also helps lead AAFCPAs’ Professional Advancement & Development (PAD) program, which equips early career professionals with critical skills, such as communication, teamwork, organization, and independence—empowering them to manage their careers effectively.
Shauna specializes in designing engaging, inclusive programming tailored to accommodate diverse audiences and learning styles, ensuring effective skill-building for all participants. She helps source a vast training catalog that enhances both technical abilities and soft skills essential for success. She also creates tailored learning plans and assists in fulfilling continuing professional education (CPE) requirements to support CPA licensure and renewal requirements.
Shauna’s background includes experience at a Big Four accounting firm and roles spanning tax and HR/operations. She holds a CPA license with the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. Committed to giving back, Shauna volunteered with the West End Community House (Boys and Girls Club), helping children with homework, meals, and activities. She also contributed to VITA, preparing tax returns for foreign exchange students at her alma mater.
