Consulting Accounting Manager
Serenity is a member of AAFCPAs’ Outsourced Accounting & Fractional CFO (OAFC) practice, where she delivers accounting and financial operations solutions to nonprofit organizations. She ensures clients have accurate and organized financial records, clear reporting, and well-managed cash flow. In helping clients strengthen internal controls, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, and facilitating timely expense approvals and vendor payments, she helps organizations maintain stability and make informed financial decisions. She also supports grant compliance by processing and maintaining the records required for grant tracking, helping clients meet funding requirements and retain critical resources.
Serenity leads and mentors staff accountants in transactional accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring each process is handled with accuracy and efficiency. She delivers monthly and quarterly financial packages with actionable insights, enabling leadership teams to respond proactively to trends and challenges. Her work includes budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections, along with budget-to-actual analyses that highlight opportunities for improved performance. She also implements financial controls designed to safeguard assets, reduce risk, and strengthen long-term sustainability.
As a trusted resource for both AAFCPAs’ internal teams and client leadership, Serenity ensures deliverables are met on time and communication remains clear. She collaborates with CFOs, controllers, and executives to address day-to-day financial needs and prepare for audits, compliance reviews, and other operational priorities.
Her technical expertise spans multiple accounting platforms, including Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Bean AI, QuickBooks, Bill.com, and other cloud-based systems, enabling her to adapt to each client’s unique environment. She also contributes to firm initiatives, participating in the AI automation pilot program, onboarding committee, and 1099 committee. Serenity earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Worcester State University and a Master of Science in Accounting from Nichols College. She speaks both English and Vietnamese. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling and hiking, often combining her love of the outdoors with charitable causes. She has participated in long-distance charity rides including a recent 45-mile event that left her feeling both accomplished and inspired.
