Alison M. Williams, CPA, MSA
Ali is responsible for planning and executing financial statement audits and providing operational advice to diverse nonprofit organizations, including community development financial institutions (CDFIs), community development corporations (CDCs) & their affordable housing projects, human & social service providers, and federally qualified community health centers (FQHCs). She has expertise performing audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards.
Ali is a member of AAFCPAs’ Community & Economic Development Practice and has experience advising CDCs and affordable housing developers on opportunities and challenges related to funding restrictions and reporting requirements, as well as nuances related to entering and exiting these investments. Ali also has experience working with nonprofits which have merged or maintain multiple entity and consolidated structures.
Ali is a 2022 recipient of the AAFCPAs’ partnership-nominated Joel Aronson Character Award, in recognition of her dedication to our clients’ well-being and generosity of his time towards others, including fellow team members and communities in need. Ali is a mentor and career coach, an in-house trainer on CDFI and CDC assurance topics. She was a participant in the firm’s inaugural Innovation Lab Changemaker Challenge, and committed to questioning how to work smarter, not harder, and thinking creatively about solutions to improved efficiency. She is currently earning her CPA credential, expected in 2022. Ali has delivered exceptional service to AAFCPAs’ clients since joining the team in 2015.
