AAFCPAs Gives Back: 10% of Net Income Dedicated to Supporting Nonprofits

Every engagement with AAFCPAs carries something more than a scope of work. It carries purpose. Through this firmwide commitment, we direct 10 percent of our net income each year to organizations advancing health, education, housing, equity, and other needs in the communities we call home.

This reflects a belief we have held since our founding—that business can be a conduit for meaningful change. Many of our clients work in the nonprofit sector. Their ambition, grit, and resolve shape the way we think about service. Their missions inspire us, and their challenges remind us that support must be intentional.

Giving back is not a side initiative. It is built into our business model and is the foundation of how we show up—for our clients, for each other, and for the people whose lives are changed by the work of nonprofits.

What this means for you.

When you engage with AAFCPAs, you help in directing money, time, and resources into the hands of organizations doing meaningful work.

Our valued clients gain the assurance that our success fuels something greater. Team members join a firm where giving back is part of the culture. Vendors and collaborators work with a team that stands behind its values in visible ways.

Your partnership fuels solutions in food access, housing, healthcare, education, and beyond. It also helps to amplify the people and organizations solving real problems in our communities.

Turning profit into purpose.

Our 10 Percent Back to Nonprofits program is structured, sustained, and woven into how we work. We give through direct contributions, event sponsorships, and discounted or pro bono solutions. We match team member donations, provide paid time for volunteering, and contribute time and insight through board service and professional guidance.

Much of our support goes to nonprofits we know well—organizations we serve, volunteer with, and stand behind through ongoing relationships. These are groups working on the front lines to improve lives, and we make it a priority to fund and elevate their missions.

AAFCPAs’ Charitable Foundation supports this work, but the commitment extends beyond it. Our people show up, pitch in, and give generously. Some of our support is financial. Some is in-kind. All of it is intentional.

What inspires us, and where it began.

AAFCPAs was founded in 1973 with a simple belief: business should serve a larger purpose. That idea came from our founder, Herb Alexander, and it continues to guide the firm today.

Long before this program was formalized in 2014, giving back was already part of who we were. Today, this commitment reflects both our history and our future—clear, measurable, and built to last.

We work alongside nonprofit leaders every day. Their missions are ambitious. Their time is stretched. And their outcomes matter. We see the long hours, the complexity of their work, and the persistence it takes to solve real problems, often with limited resources. This is where our respect comes from. And this is why we commit our firm to supporting them, year after year.

  • “There are a lot of parallels between the Academy and AAFCPAs. They, too, hold themselves to a higher standard, and they provide excellence in all they do.

It’s wonderful, too, that they give back through their 10% Back to Nonprofits program. Not many organizations are willing to cut into their profits to give back. It’s not only a nice thing to do, but it could make a real difference for an organization that receives a donation. It could provide a nonprofit with the ability to start a new program. While AAFCPAs donates 10 percent of their proceeds, we’re similar in that we donate our time and knowledge. In that respect, we’re both working to foster common good.”
