Scott Alexander
Scott is a dynamic financial controller in AAFCPAs’ Managed Accounting Solutions practice, providing custom outsourced accounting solutions as well as project leadership and financial and operational management for privately-held companies. His diverse advisory experience ranges from mature, multi-national businesses through entrepreneurial start-ups, including software, bio-tech, real estate, publishing, and cannabis.
Scott’s managerial-level financial and operations expertise includes: best practice internal controls and business processes, regulatory compliance, risk management, working capital management, financial tools & systems implementation, and audit preparedness.
Scott provides oversight of AAFCPAs’ finance talent in the execution of clients’ day-to-day accounting and back office functions, including: bookkeeping and payroll preparation, monthly close procedures, and management financial reporting. He coordinates with management and department heads in the development of budgets and forecasts, and revenue recognition models. He analyzes financial and operational procedures as needed and based on changing regulatory standards, financial reporting requirements, and trade laws, and makes pragmatic recommendations on how these changes may impact compliance, processes, and systems.
Having worked successfully as a corporate financial controller for over a decade, Scott knows first-hand the demands on the finance function to effectively support business goals. He provides reliable, timely, and accurate information, and interprets and clearly communicates the meaning behind the numbers.
