Kathy Blanchard, CPA, MBA
Kathy provides assurance, tax and consulting services to sophisticated nonprofits and privately-held commercial companies, including: human & social service agencies, behavioral healthcare providers, manufacturers/distributors, professional service firms, foundations and grant-making organizations. She has extensive experience managing high-energy teams providing insightful and minimally-intrusive assurance solutions, including audits, reviews and compilations. She delivers valuable information to clients about their financial position and performance to support informed decision making.
Kathy advises on revenue recognition for commercial entities with multiple contracts, and evolving nonprofits with complex program offerings and diverse funding sources. She assists nonprofit clients in allocating costs to various programs, grants, contracts and agreements using an objective and consistent method. She provides guidance to clients with both small and complex investments by assisting in developing and evaluating investment and endowment spending policies, designing reporting structures, and evaluating and improving internal controls over investment activities.
Kathy is an active member of AAFCPAs’ Accounting & Auditing committee, and an in-house technical trainer on the elements of quality control. She is a leader in the firm’s efforts to maintain our systems of quality control in the assurance process following best practices in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS). She has been serving AAFCPAs’ clients since 2000. Prior to joining our team, Kathy spent five years managing the internal audit department of a transportation services company.
