Joy has been a shareholder at AAF since January 1999, when her firm merged with AAF. She became a CPA in 1982 and a partner in her former firm in 1986.

As a member of AAF’s tax department, Joy specializes in a number of accounting areas, including business valuations, estate and income tax planning, consulting, and estates & trusts.

An author of financial and accounting topics for several area business publications, Joy was a Consulting Editor to the Journal of Accountancy for five years. She is a member of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Worcester and served in each of the officer positions. She is on the Executive Committee of the Worcester Economic Club and serves as its accountant. She is a corporator of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and is a member of the Professional Advisors Network.

Active in her community, she served for 18 years as Treasurer and is still a Director of the Theatre of Northeastern Connecticut. In addition, she has served on the Finance Board in her hometown of Putnam, Connecticut. Joy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). She holds the PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) designation from the AICPA.

Joy graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration in accounting, and received her Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) with honors from Clark University.
